Concealed headworn microphones provided subtle vocal reinforcement while keeping visible microphone capsules from interrupting the audience’s immersion.

Different reinforcement delay configurations and level balances were used for the reality sequences, dream sequences, and final distancing sequence. These shifts in perceived listening distance helped draw the audience into the drama and pull them back out.

Music levels were carefully balanced, and existing tracks were reworked to follow the production’s dramatic rhythm and dynamic changes.

Sparing use of ambience and reverb heightened emotional and dynamic contrasts. Within a noisy theatre environment, selectively adding sound helped make the quiet of certain passages more perceptible.
